Who Are Lutherans

We are ELCA Lutherans (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)

The ELCA, over 4 million faithful, has a passion for making positive change in the world.  Through worship, service, and education we practice our faith, grow our relationship with God, and experience God’s grace in our lives.

Lutherans are Christian.

We believe in the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit–Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier.  We believe that God is made known to us through God’s Son, Jesus who redeemed us by his crucifixion, death and resurrection and who remains with us always through the Holy Spirit.

Lutherans are Protestant

Lutherans are Christians who believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone, not by anything that we do, through our faith in God alone, and that the Bible is the standard by which teaching and doctrines are to be judged.  The Bible is the inspired word of God; is not to be taken literally; but is to be read through the lens of God’s grace.
