Bob

Mark your calendars now and please plan to join us for mid-week worship via Zoom during the season of Lent! Our approximately 30 minute worship experiences will have a different focus each week on the theme Created for Community—“In Community with Creation,” “In Community with All the Saints,” “In Community with Our Neighbor,” “In Community With Those on the Margin,” and “In Community with Christ.”

We will pray with one another, sing together, read from the Bible, and Dwell in the Word (a small group, interactive Bible encounter).

Ash Wednesday Worship

Bob

Join us via Zoom for live, participatory worship, including the imposition of ashes and the celebration of Holy Communion, on Ash Wednesday, February 17th at 11 am or 6 pm Mountain Time.

If you wish to participate in the imposition of ashes, please have a small amount of ashes, soil from your yard or a park, soil from a houseplant etc. on hand for the worship experience. On this day we are invited into the season of Lent, in which we express our desire and need for God's transformation in our lives and in our world. We mark ourselves with ashes on this day as a sign of repentance, human frailty and dependence upon God, our human mortality, and ultimately God's power and ability to cleanse and renew us.

There are two Zoom links below, one for 11 am and another one for 6 pm. I am looking forward to making this Lenten journey with you and I hope to see you at worship. Peace and prayers until then!

Shrove Tuesday/Mardis Gras Digital Pancake Feast

Bob

Shrove Tuesday is the day immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, named historically after the “Shriving” (confession and absolution) of Christians on this day that precedes the penitential season of Lent. It is also known as Mardi Gras, or “fat Tuesday," the carnival celebration that culminates on the day before Ash Wednesday. This is the feast before the fast!

Make some pancakes, or any other decadent treat you would like, and join this digital meal via the Zoom link below. See you there!
