Sunday of the Passion/Palm Sunday

Join us for live, participatory worship via Zoom, including the celebration of Holy Communion, this Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 9:30 am Mountain Time. We will experience and celebrate together Sunday of the Passion/Palm Sunday.

We will wave palms from our homes, share songs with one another, pray together, have children's time, experience good news during the sermon time, share in the Lord's Supper, and bless and send one another to be God's presence in our world.

As always, following worship we will share digital coffee time and check in with one another. I hope to see you there as we are blessed by your presence! Peace today, and see you soon!

Maundy Thursday

Join us for live, participatory worship via Zoom, including the celebration of Holy Communion, on Maundy Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm Mountain Time.

This evening our Lenten observance comes to an end, and we gather with Christians around the world to celebrate the Three Days, also known as the Triduum, of Jesus’ death and resurrection. On Maundy Thursday we remember Christ’s last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his “new commandment," mandatum novum in Latin from which comes “maundy," that we live out the promise embodied in this meal. As Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, so we are called to give and receive love in humble service to one another. Formed into a new body in Christ through this holy meal, we are transformed by the mercy we have received and carry it into the world.

Worship this evening will last about an hour and will conclude with the stripping of the altar, a symbol that Jesus has been stripped of his worldly power as he journeys to the cross.

Good Friday

Join us for live, participatory worship via Zoom, on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at 6:00 pm Mountain Time.

Life and death stand side by side as we enter into Good Friday. At the heart of our approximately one hour worship experience is the reading of the Passion narrative from Mark's Gospel. Standing with the followers of Jesus at the foot of the cross, we pray for the whole world in the ancient bidding prayer, as Christ’s death offers life to all.

We gather in solemn devotion this day, but always with the promise that the tree around which we assemble is indeed a tree of life for all people.

Palm Pick-Up at Holy Cross Parking Lot

Bob

Drop by the Holy Cross parking lot anytime between 9:30 am and 5 pm this Saturday, March 27th, to pick up palms to wave from your home during Palm Sunday worship via Zoom; grab one for you, your family, and a neighbor.

We will raise palms from our homes during the reading of the Palm Sunday processional Gospel and wave them as we sing our first song together. Feel free to make your own palm in your home–use paper and crayons/ markers, construction paper, or any other household items to fashion your own palm to wave during worship on Sunday.

Would you like a palm but need help picking one up? Let me know, and I’ll see if I can get one delivered for you! I hope to raise a palm with you during worship via Zoom this Sunday!
